Schiit Audio sent me both these amps for evaluation and review. In short, both these amps were excellent with all the regular headphones I plugged in to them, and near silent with even Campfire Audio's Andromedas (on low gain). It actually took me using unrealistically demanding headphones (HiFiMan's Susvaras) to get them to struggle.

Haven't been able to find any info on what improvements Schiit claims for the 'Plus' version. Also, with the Heresy, Schiit is competing against themselves for the same market space. Seems like that is going to confuse people. As I write this, Amazon has the Magni 3 (not the new 'Plus') on sale for $74 for Black Friday weekend.On the Schiit Valhalla 2, the low gain setting has an output impedance of 3.5-Ohms, so even 20-Ohm IEM should work plugged into it. Right now I am thinking of using a Squeezebox Touch which has digital out and RCA out. I can send the digital through the schiit DAC and the rca to the speakers. The squeezebox has volume so I can control the volume to the speakers. I just need a way to turn the speakers on and off, which is easy enough with a switch of some sort.
Brighter and harsher indicates that there is more noise usually. In my system, that has resulted in the Mjolnir sounding quite a bit "warmer" than some impressions suggest.
