Aug 10, 2018 · To temporarily adjust my deck I raise the deck all the way up, shut off the engine, and put a 4x4 block under the 4 corners of the deck ( the blocks are 1/2 inch longer than the hanging deck) This totally takes the pressure off of the knob assembly and the knob turns easily. ( always turn the knob clockwise). It works for me. You might need to try disconnecting the outside rod and using vise grips to exercise the lever. Finally, attempt to turn the PTO shaft manually. When shifted one way, it should be free, turning very easily.
