When I was mixing my substrate, I followed the 1/2C verm, 1/4C BRF, 60cc water recipe exactly. I guess I have coarser verm - when I added the water to the verm, there was quite a bit of water at the ...The inoculant is nothing more than distilled water and the spores. The trick I discovered with the PF Tek is to substitute some of the brown rice flour with agar powder. I've been adding about 1 teaspoon of agar powder per 1/2 pint jar and it makes the colonization triple in speed, for me at least.
