There is a bonfire towards the end of Lost Izalith: it's behind a false wall at the end of the lava area. It's not worth it, IMO, if you already have the shortcut opened up. The closest bonfire is in a little ways. When you get to the boss fog, turn left and continue through the archway to the stairs where the tentacled monster awaits.
