Zombies not reacting to gunfire. Hey guys I have just recently come back to the game after a few years of not playing and my friend has hosted a multiplayer server for us to play on. Whilst on this server I noticed that when I fire my shotgun that it is not attracting many zombies to my location.

The game does that "lone survivor" ambiance very well. I have only spent a handful of hours playing the game multiplayer (only when it released for build 41). If you can get 100+ hours singleplayer and have fun with it, that tells me the single player experience is, indeed, a good one.By default zombies only spawn in places you haven't visited in a few days, shooting is loud enough to basically attract every lone zombie you missed into a horde. #2. l_pha Jun 18, 2020 @ 3:52pm. Originally posted by BattlePanda: It doesn't spawn them afaik but the gunshot will pull them in from a massive radius to the point.

Noise attracts all zombies in a general proximity towards the player's presence. The level of hearing zombies possess can be changed in the sandbox settings before starting the game. Some actions generate more noise than others, and therefore are more dangerous to perform. There are many actions that make noise that will attract zombies. Ever since I started my current single player world, I've been hearing random explosions. They happen at random at any time and I hear them like they're right next to me. Zombies don't seem to be affected by the noise because when it happens they don't go towards it. Any ideas on what it is? I'm at the firehouse at rosewood if that helps. No gunshots. I heard a loud knocking on something, I've heard gunshots but that was no gunshot. There is a silenced or muffled gun metasound that sounds just like knocking, I've heard it too.Right, I was playing around zomboid raiding houses and stealing stuff when all of a sudden there's a gunshot, a random gunshot.
