There can be a few causes for this, main one being the LR hasn't been cleaned in a while allowing enough litter to accumulate on the top of the base. This results in the globe having to rub against the litter causing excessive drag.To add, the sensor is two $.01 pieces of plated metal that get litter basically dumped on them with every cycle. So they corrode / get dirty and give tons of false pinch alerts. Sometimes the pinch alert requires a full unplug to reset. I kept finding my LR stuck upside down, leading the cats to find other places to do their messes.
