For every 100 mg of homogenized tissue add 500 µl of CTAB Buffer. Mix and thoroughly vortex. Place the tube in a 60°C water bath for 30 minutes. Centrifuge the homogenate for 5 minutes at 14,000 x g. Transfer supernatant to a new tube. Add 5 µl of RNase A solution and incubate at 37°C for 20 minutes.While there are other reliable DNA extraction protocols (e.g., CTAB) methods, this method is preferred since it does not involve the use of organic compounds. 4.1.1 Notes.
