I got my shipping email last Friday, too, and it only started making progress this morning. My guess is that as the shipping process accelerates they're attaching tracking data to orders sooner than they're actually getting sent out, which triggers the system to send the email saying it's shipped, even if it's not officially in the hands of the USPS yet.
