I am katana lover and I basically finished all souls games with katanas. Nagakiba has great damage, nice moveset and oh my god the reach on R2 wow. I enchanted mine with occult and Bloodhound Step and basically no other weapon was better. I even tried Eleonora's Poleblade and Rivers of Blood but still in the end switched to my Nagakiba. It's one of those weapons that's a noob trap, imo. People get stuck on using the ranged attack as a crutch, while the actual katana moveset is extremely versatile and is, in tandem with the ranged attack, the key to being really skilled with it. In other words, it's a low skill floor, high skill ceiling weapon. Right honestly everything ive tested thats nerfed still seems good.
